Spirometry checks in an easy, quick and objetive manner the normal lung function.

Spirometry allows to measure respiratory volumes and flows (speed of the air in the lungs).
The possible obstruction to the air flow can be estimated.

Our clinic has an Spirobank spirometer linked to a computer, allowing to follow patient's data. as well as individual printouts.

Spirometry Cartoon Images

A visual incentive with animated cartoons are used to help the patient to blow maximum air volume. Changes in lung volumes and the effect on the patient of the drug can be assessed.

Spirometries can be made to children 5 years or older

Types of Respiratory Testing we can do at the Clinic

Simple Spirometry: blowing the air as much as possible.
Forced Spirometry: blowing maximun air quantity in the less possible time. It is the most useful technique.
Bronchodilation test: both a normal spirometry and another one few minutes after giving the patient a bronchodilator inhaler, with the aim of checking the changes in lung volumes.
