Patients that rounded off 75% of the treatment proposed by the doctor felt better and avoided emergency rooms or even hospital admissions


Inhaled corticoidsteroids offer a good and sound treatment and they have a documented low side effect incidence.

Nonetheless, most of the patients never complete the proposed treatment and could be at risk of severe ashtma attacks.


In a recent study published by the prestigious Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology it was checked up to what point the misuse of the medication was related to severe asthma attacks, including emergency room visits or even admissions to the hospital.


It was noted that up to 24% of all severe asthma episodes could be due because the patient did not take correctly the inhaled medication, not completing the full treatment.
